The journey
This is not simply a dance course.
It is an initiation into being seen.
THE INITIATION is an immersive journey for women who feel the desire to enter the world of The Embodied Women and perform with us on the Main Stage at Roots Festival 2027.
Beginning with a five-hour embodiment immersion, you will be guided into a deeper relationship with your body, your sensations, your expression and your feminine aliveness.
From there, you will join a collective of women for a four-month creative and performance journey—culminating in a powerful performance at Roots Festival.
Part One
The Initiation Immersion
Before entering the performance journey, we begin with the body.
This immersion has been created specifically for women who have not previously completed a journey with The Embodied Women. It is the threshold through which you will enter this work.
- Deepen your connection to your body and sensations
- Explore movement as a language of authentic expression
- Build the foundations of embodied sensuality
- Expand your capacity to be witnessed
- Experience the safety and power of moving in sisterhood
- Prepare your body and nervous system for the performance journey
You do not need to arrive already feeling confident, sensual or ready. This immersion is where we begin.
Part Two
The Performance Journey
Following the immersion, you will join women who have previously completed journeys with The Embodied Women for seven Sunday rehearsals between October 2026 and February 2027.
Together, we will bring a new transmission to life through movement, embodiment, sisterhood and performance.
Full Journey
For women who desire to be involved throughout most or all of the performance and can remain available across the complete rehearsal journey.
Selected Sections
For women who desire a lighter commitment and would prefer to perform in selected sections of the final creation.
Neither role is more important than the other. Every woman will be intentionally woven into the final creation.
The next transmission
Meet the woman on the other side.
Last year at Roots, we brought to the stage the journey of a woman becoming embodied—a journey of remembrance, reclamation, liberation and returning home to the body.

Unapologetically expressed.
The energy of The Temptress is beginning to reveal herself. She is deeply connected to her desire, pleasure and aliveness. She does not seduce for validation. Her sensuality belongs to her.

Rehearsal journey
Dates & location
All Sunday rehearsals are currently planned for 9:00am–2:00pm. Depending on your role, you may not be required for the full duration each time. Please keep each complete window available until individual schedules are confirmed.
Dates and times may shift slightly. The final two or three rehearsals require everyone for the full duration. Any additional rehearsal and studio costs will be communicated and agreed upon in advance.
About Roots
Roots Women’s Embodiment Festival 2027
Held on Dharug Country at Wisemans Ferry, approximately 1.5 hours from Sydney, Roots is a retreat-style gathering devoted to expression, embodied truth and village-based sisterhood.
Across seven immersive workshop spaces, more than 600 women co-create their own journeys through movement, ritual, rest and raw reclamation.
The gathering is a remembering.
Drawing from ancestral and embodied practices that tend to matrescence and matricentric experiences, Roots recalls what it means for women to be held safely in sovereignty, synergy and cyclical feminine wisdom.
A space to reclaim your rhythm, your voice, your body and your power.
It is a return to an earth-rooted, feminine-centred community, where expression is unfiltered and nothing needs to be fixed, performed or hidden.

This is a relationship that continues to deepen.
In 2026, The Embodied Women brought INITIATION to the Roots Main Stage—a performance of remembrance, reclamation, liberation and returning home to the body.
Alongside this, Giovanna served as Performance Manager, curating the festival’s performance realm, facilitating Embodied Sensual Dance and performing as part of The Devotional Priestesses.
In 2027, she returns as Performances Director, leading the performance realm while bringing The Embodied Women back to the Main Stage with its next transmission.
The culmination
Roots Festival 2027
12–15 February 2027
Our journey culminates in a collective performance on the Roots Festival Main Stage.
A final Main Stage rehearsal will take place at the festival, currently expected on Thursday evening or Friday morning. Your presence at Roots and this rehearsal is essential.
What is included
The complete initiation
Embodiment
Five-hour Initiation Immersion, sensual movement and authentic expression practices.
Creation
Original choreography, creative direction and seven scheduled rehearsal days.
Performance
Performer training, stage presence development and the Roots Main Stage experience.
Continuation
Ongoing guidance, sacred sisterhood and an exclusive discount for the Embodied Feminine journey beginning in March 2027.

From initiation to stage.
Your investment includes the five-hour immersion and the complete four-month performance journey. Payment plans will be available.
Roots Festival ticket — purchased separately
Your Roots Festival ticket is not included in the $777 journey investment.
A small number of 50%-off Roots Festival tickets will be available for this performance. Women already within The Embodied Women community receive first priority until 1 September 2026.
After 1 September, any remaining discounted tickets will be offered to new participants in order of confirmed enrolment. Once allocated, all remaining participants will need to purchase a full-price festival ticket directly from Roots.
